Semi-annual prepaid tickets allow regular daily passengers to travel significantly cheaper in terms of 1 journey compared to purchasing single tickets separately for each journey. Their price is also more advantageous compared to the price of two separate quarterly tickets.

  • Semi-annual zone ticket allows to make unlimited number of journeys within the territory bordered by selected (purchased) tariff zones for a period of 180 days. Semi-annual zone ticket can be purchased for maximum of 8 tariff zones.
  • Semi-annual network ticket allows to make unlimited number of journeys within all the IDS Východ tariff zones (i.e. entire territory of eastern Slovakia) for a period of 180 days. Its price is only slightly higher than a quarterly zone ticket for 8 tariff zones.

Semi-annual prepaid tickets can be uploaded solely on a transport card (physical or virtual) marked with a photography, name and surname of the passenger, as well as with the stated time validity of the card and the card identification number. The student “ISIC” card also be usable as an alternative to the transport card.

The semi-annual ticket can be purchased via the e-shop of the carrier or in person at the customer service centres of carriers. Semi-annual tickets cannot be purchased from the driver on the bus, but the same next prepaid ticket (with the same zone and time validity) can be purchased from the driver on the bus.

There are available an ordinary (full-fare), discounted (50% discount) as well as special (80% discount) quarterly tickets.

Entitlement of the discounted semi-annual (zone as well as network) fare apply to:

  • children under 6 years,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by a card proving the age of the child or another identification card with the current photo of the child, name, surname and date of birth of the child,
    • the authorised employee of the carrier requires the proof only if he/she considers that the age of the child for who the discount is claimed cannot be assessed based on his/her physical appearance,
  • children under 16 years,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by a card proving the age of the child or another identification card with the current photo of the child, name, surname and date of birth of the child, applied from the age of 12 years,
    • in any case the authorised employee of the carrier requires the proof only if he/she considers that the age of the child for who the discount is claimed cannot be assessed based on his/her physical appearance,
  • pupils or students under 26 years, that are pupils of primary school, full-time secondary school students or full-time university students,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by a valid card issued by the carrier, valid card accepted by the carrier or valid university student card,
    • such a card must contain the current photo, name and surname, date of birth of the pupil or student and the validity date of the discount that is the only decisive date for assessing entitlement to the discount (in the case of a transport card, it is sufficient if the date of birth and the validity date of the discount are recorded on the card in electronic form),
  • seniors from 63 years,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by a valid identity card or valid card issued by the carrier,
    • such a card must contain the photo, name and surname, date of birth of the senior (in the case of a transport card, it is sufficient if the date of birth is recorded on the card in electronic form),
  • severely disabled people that are holders of a ŤZP or ŤZP-S cards,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by a ŤZP card, ŤZP-S card, identity card with the stated information about ŤZP or dependence on accompanying person or another card (issued by some of the carriers) proving the claim for the discounted fare if the card is included in the system of mutual recognition of transport cards.

Entitlement of the special semi-annual (zone as well as network) fare apply to:

  • people from 70 years,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall be proved by an identity card or another card (issued by some of the regional bus transport carriers) proving the claim for this fare,
  • pregnant women,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall only be proved by a transport card that is issued some of the carriers based on an identity card and pregnancy card,
  • holders of the gold and diamond Janský plaque or Kňazovický medal,
    • the entitlement to this fare shall only be proved by a transport card that is issued some of the carriers based on an identity card and certificate of awarding the gold or diamond Janský plaque or Kňazovický medal.

The fare is applied in regional bus transport operated by the following carriers: ARRIVA Michalovce, eurobus, SAD Humenné, SAD Poprad, and SAD Prešov SK. Detailed information are available in the Tariff of IDS Východ.
