Within its time validity, a prepaid ticket will allow to make an unlimited number and length of journeys using any lines within the territory of the relevant tariff zones. Prepaid tickets (season tickets) will be especially advantageous for regular passengers travelling daily. The longer their validity, the more advantageous their price will be.

  • Zone prepaid tickets will be valid only within the territory of purchased tariff zones chosen by the passenger. Passengers will be able to purchase zone prepaid tickets for maximum of 8 zones.
  • Network prepaid tickets will be valid within all the IDS Východ tariff zones (i.e. within the entire territory of eastern Slovakia)

Only with a transport card

Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual prepaid tickets will be uploaded solely on a transport card marked with a photography, name and surname of the passenger as well as with the stated time validity of the card and the card identification number, and issued by one of the contractual carriers of the Košice and Prešov self-governing region (ARRIVA Michalovce, BUS Karpaty, eurobus, SAD Humenné, SAD Poprad, SAD Prešov), Košice city public transport company or Prešov city public transport company. For using the prepaid tickets, the student “ISIC” card will also be usable as an alternative to the transport card.

To purchase a day network ticket, a transport card without the specifics described above (photo, name,…) will be also sufficient.

How to buy a prepaid ticket?

Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual prepaid tickets will be able to be purchased via the e-shop at www.ubian.sk or mobile application UBIAN or in person in the customer centres of contractual carriers of the Košice and Prešov self-governing region (ARRIVA Michalovce, BUS Karpaty, eurobus, SAD Humenné, SAD Poprad, SAD Prešov). Subsequently, it will be possible to buy them again for the same financial amount (i.e. to extend their validity for the same period) also from the bus driver.

A day network ticket will also be able to be purchased directly from the bus driver. It will not be possible to extend the time validity of the day network ticket.

Travelling outside the prepaid zones (the zones recorded on the prepaid ticket)

In the case of a journey (route), a part of which will not lie in the zone or zones purchased and recorded on the prepaid ticket, the passenger shall purchase a single ticket for the entire route; however, the price of such a ticket will be calculated only according to the number of zones on the route that will not be included in the prepaid ticket. In other words, the fare will be reduced automatically by the number of zones purchased already within the prepaid ticket of the passenger.

Example:

Let us assume that the passenger purchased the prepaid ticket for all tariff zones on the route Košice – Prešov. If he/she wants to travel to Sabinov, for example, he/she will buy a single ticket from Košice to Sabinov. After placing the transport card on the card reader and identifying prepaid tariff zones, the on-board computer will automatically calculate the fare only based on the number of tariff zones on the route Prešov – Sabinov. However, time validity of the ticket will be determined according to all the tariff zones on the route Košice – Sabinov. If the passenger has an eWallet on the transport card with enough credit, the fare for non-prepaid tariff zones will be deducted from the eWallet of the transport card. If the passenger utilizes the transport card only for the purpose of the prepaid ticket, i.e. without the function of the eWallet, he/she will be able to pay for non-prepaid tariff zones in cash. The same principle will apply to cases when the prepaid tariff zones does not lie at the beginning of the journey but in any section of the journey – for the purpose of calculating the fare, the prepaid tariff zones will be always deducted from the total number of zones on the route.

The fare will be applied in suburban regular bus transport operated by the following carriers: ARRIVA Michalovce, BUS Karpaty, eurobus, SAD Humenné, SAD Poprad, and SAD Prešov. Detailed information will be available in the Tariff of IDS Východ.
